Consumers are expected to raise an issue with the institution before it reaches the OFC. Firms should be able to receive, log and respond to complaints directly.
When a complaint is assigned, the institution is asked to provide its account of events and supporting records within the timeframe set on the case.
Case correspondence is sent to the contacts registered for your institution. Out-of-date contacts delay resolution.
Where a complaint results in remedial action, the institution is expected to implement and evidence it.
